Airbus A318

The Airbus A318 is the smallest member of the A320 family, often nicknamed the “Baby Bus.” Designed for short to medium-haul routes, it retains the advanced features of the A320 series—including fly-by-wire controls, a common cockpit layout, and high fuel efficiency—but in a shorter, more compact airframe. The A318 was intended to serve low-density routes, regional markets, and airports with strict performance requirements, such as steep approach capabilities.

While it had a limited production run, the A318 remains an important part of Airbus’s strategy to offer a full range of narrow-body aircraft tailored to airline needs.
